Dan was a wonderful, hilarious, loving, capable man. He taught me so much, and treated me like family when I needed it most. I now know how to fall off a haybale trailer *properly* and know that there's nothing to do but laugh when the pony takes off with a brand new rider on her back.
He made sure every motley crew we dragged out to his farm for a party knew the rules, stuck to the rules, and cleaned up the cans afterwards. He explained every piece of equipment in a field I'd point at and say "What's that?", and may have bought me more Booster Juice smoothies than my own parents (who bought me A LOT of them).
Love you forever, Dan-man. Everyone who knew him should consider themselves lucky to have experienced such a gift.
