Obituary of Pat Hartnett
Patricia Ann Hartnett (Pat) was born April 19, 1932 in Saskatoon. She passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on September 1, 2023 at the age of 91.
Pat will be remembered with love by her daughters Kathy (Rob Warriner) and Diane (Terry Lloyd), granddaughter Talia (Shane Kenny), great-grandchildren Tegan, Brody and Bria, her brother Jim Eaton, sister-in-law Peg (Keith Quittenbaum) and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. Pat was predeceased by her husband Tom in 2010.
Pat worked hard all her life, beginning at Kresge’s at the age of 14, many years at Eaton’s, Knox Church Day Care, the Star Phoenix as tour guide, MVA, and as counsellor for families and children affected by alcoholism. Pat was a member of Grosvenor United for many years and Mayfair United most recently. A kind, caring person, she made lifelong friends who became like family. Pat loved her home and yard and developed a green thumb in her later years. She painted, made beautiful quilts and loved afternoons with the ‘Crafty Ladies’. She was happiest in her beloved home. Recently she bought herself a new lawn tractor-she had to be advised to ease up on the gas when she took it out for her first ride. Pat always had a positive outlook. She loved family get-togethers, especially the ‘cousins lunches’. Pat had many dog companions over the years, outliving all but was entertained by wandering cats and wildlife in her neighbourhood. An amazing lady and a life well lived.
We would like to give special thanks to long time neighbours and friends Elsie and Ernie Fast who were always there to lend a hand and the compassionate paramedics, nurses and staff at RUH.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the animal rescue of your choice.
