I was very saddened to read in the UoS Alumni magazine of Terry's passing this past September. Although I hadn't seen Terry for many years, I have fond memories of our times in the Biology department and the Biology Club in the early 70's. I remember him as a very passionate and kind individual and the biology profession is much better because of him. My condolences to his family and friends.

I met Terry through Robb, a mutual friend. I have known him since the late eighties. He was such an intelligent, gentle soul, who added much to the world of plants, animals, and people. Thank you Terry for your keen interest and understanding of creation. I will always recall the joy you expressed as a returned CUSO volunteer. I am sure the people you served overseas benefited greatly from your teaching there. Rest In Peace for many jobs well done.

Terry was an intelligent, kind man, and loyal friend. He was passionate about science, nature, antiques, and his beloved dogs. Today I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Terry's passing. While Terry worked at the National Research Council where I also worked we enjoyed many, many coffee breaks together. He was so intelligent and shared his vast knowledge freely which I greatly appreciated. Terry, my spouse, and I had an afternoon coffee break at the local Coop where we had a great time and wish we could have had more. My sincere condolences to his family. Olga Coates
