Jean's passing led me to think of many memories of my interactions with both her and Tom. I recall her frequent sharp wit, and readiness to make a joke. Her frequently playful personality continued even after her dementia advanced and she no longer recognised who I was. I only wish I had known both of them for a longer period. They were very fine people, and I feel I'm a better person for having known them even for only a few years.
