Dear Jim and Lila,
I did not send condolences at the time of the family gathering in memory of Joan. I did not know to look in this location for the obituary. Lila, you were an amazing caregiver to your mom for thirteen years. I watched you give loving kindness in daily dealings with Joan. She was always smiling when you and Jim took her shopping, on trips to Edmonton, and weekend trips to the lake in the summer. No mother could have been more blessed with such a wonderful daughter. Caring for Joan with patience and love in your home over the years and especially the last year of her life while you worked from home was beyond what anyone could have done. I will remember Joan's sweet smile and our interactions during my visits in Saskatoon. I thank you for allowing me to share with Joan during those times.
