Ever since the summer I turned 12, I have thought of Lisa whenever I see the Northern Lights. That summer when her family pulled up in their camper at our house in Saskatoon, having driven from Pine Point, everyone went into the house to reconnect and catch-up. Lisa and I took over the camper and she regaled me with stories of the north. After who knows how many hours, we left the camper only to become awestruck when we stepped out - the most amazing northern lights I have ever seen were dancing across the sky - purples, pinks, greens, blues - just incredible. I have seen the northern lights many times since then, but never again like the ones we saw that night. I wondered if somehow they had come with her from the NWT.
Now I will imagine Lisa dancing among those lights. I will miss knowing you're in this world, cuz. And I hope all your beloveds who are missing you dearly right now know that all of us who loved you are holding them in our hearts and in our prayers.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Lisa. Such a vibrant and fun loving woman; I had the pleasure of working with her at Mother Teresa School and a few other schools in GSCS. Lisa was a hard worker, did her job well and was one of my favourites. She was a smart, wise woman and so helpful! We had plenty of long talks and shared many laughs. Life wasn’t always easy for her but she made the best of tough situations.I hope Lisa and Tarrah are catching up and sharing some good chuckles right now! Justin, your momma loved you and your babies so much!! I can only imagine how much they will miss their spunky grandma. Condolences and hugs to family and friends who are feeling a little less with the passing of Lisa.

I had the privilege of being Lisa and Terry’s neighbour. She’s an absolute ray of sunshine and so unpredictability funny. One summer was a water war…. It started with me sun tanning on my deck and then Lisa getting me with the hose every time she came outside. One day I was ready for her with my hose, but she snuck outside and turned it off (I was so impressed with how light on her feet she was). Short time later she noticeably comes outside and I turn around to get her with only a drop of water coming out and Lisa absolutely blasting me full pressure in the face. She decimated me that day and it was the most fun I had ever had with a neighbour. Her door was always open, she would offer her help before it was asked, she’d come over for drinks when she’d see family or friends over. Her laugh and personality was always delightfully infectious, you couldn’t help but have a good time and dance when Lisa was there. Many fond memories. I know she is brightening up the room where ever she is.

My condolences to Lisa's family. I remember Lisa very fondly. We started grade7 together in Pine Point. I always thought she was so cool. I even told her my middle name was Marie as well, cause Elvis' daughters name was Lisa Marie. She introduced me to alot of people, as I was the new kid in town. Probably got into a bit too much trouble as well. I have nothing but find memories of Lisa. I will treasure always.

My condolences to the Higginbotham family. I remember Lisa’s infectious laugh most; it drew a party crowd and good time where ever it went. I always felt like Lisa (and Terry) we’re part of our family, we attended their family events and they were always at ours. If someone wouldn’t have told me, I would have assumed that Lisa was my aunt and Terry my uncle ( that’s what I refer to them as). It speaks to the kind heart that Lisa had, and her ability to merge herself into any situation. We will miss her, she will be a missing piece of our family. Love you auntie!
Love: Jarrett Fontaine

Lisa was always such a vibrant spirit who lived to laugh and live life to the fullest. She was always on a journey…her journey has taken a different path this time but knowing her she is still smiling strong on her new journey. Our world lost a great kind caring soul. Our universe can feel the void she has left. Loved her laugh. ❤️

They say people come into your life for either a reason, a season or a lifetime. Lisa shared the gift of her friendship with me for many seasons, and many reasons too. She was a shining light in my life for many years, as we supported each other through a number of life events. Even though our paths went separate ways several years ago, she always remained close in my thoughts and my heart. I saw the love she had for those precious grandbabies in the photos she shared on facebook, and I would smile as soon as I saw her smiling face in the photos. She was a one-of-a-kind gem that shone most brightly for her family. I want to extend my most sincere condolences to all her family. She was a strong and loving mama and I know you are just devastated at her loss. Sending you love and prayers for healing as you navigate the coming weeks and months.

I usually don’t get to know my neighbours very well, but I got to know Lisa through the friendship of our dogs. Mine doesn’t tolerate other dogs very well at all, but she was in love with Lisa’s beautiful Dezzie.
While those two chased each other around the yard, Lisa and I would have long chats, and she would tell me about what was going on in her life.
I know that Lisa’s life was far from easy. I appreciated the long discussions we had on a range of topics, and I will miss her company, her outgoing personality, and the way that she was never afraid to tell you what was on her mind. She was a very open and genuine person.
I hope that she has finally found the peace that too often eluded her in life.
My sincerest condolences to all of Lisa’s family.
