My thoughts and prayers are with Karen's family at this very sad time. I met Karen at University. We were taking our Early Childhood Education degree together. We were even roommates for a year. I was also lucky enough be be one of her bridesmaids in her wedding. We haven't visited together in many years but every once in a while we would visit via Facebook or messenger. I can't believe she's gone. She was a wonderful, caring friend. I feel lucky to have been able to call her my friend for so many years. I will miss our conversations and reading about her and Jericho's traveling adventures. Big hugs to all of you. Her long time friend, Susan Paton

I would like to send my condolences to Karen's family. I have know Karen for many years working in the Childcare field. She was a good leader if our field of ECE. She worked tireless to support families, staff and centres to be the best they could be. Rest in peace Karen! Colleen Gerling

Karen's involvement with our theatre has spanned decades, bringing her passion and energy to the multiple roles she successfully filled. From Chair of the board to volunteering for any required task at the Fringe, she was always willing to go above and beyond in her support for this organization. With fond appreciation we will hold memories of her even as we sorrowfully miss her presence.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Karen. We served the Fringe together, on the board of 25th Street Theatre and later just as volunteers at the festival. I always thought she was so lucky because her house was practically at the Fringe! She was a kindred spirit, dedicated to the arts and I was happy to remain her friend through Facebook. My condolences and best wishes to her family.
