Dear Dupuis family, please accept my condolences on Don’s passing. I worked with him when he was with Sask Power in the land department. He was a pleasure to work with and was a great assistance to me, I remember him fondly.

Wishing Marg, Anita, Mark and family God's blessing and comfort as we all mourn the loss of a man of faith and a true gentleman. Don was always a great friend to our family. We shared baseball trips to Minneapolis, had some laughs at our family cabin at Echo Lake and I even took Don on a fishing trip on Mirond Lake in northern Saskatchewan. Don had a nickname and great story to tell for everyone. I remember sitting beside him at a Minnesota Twins game and was amazed as he predicted every move of each of the managers. I have said many times that he could have easily managed any MLB team. The only problem is that it would have had to be the Cardinals. I don't remember many times when Don wasn't wearing his St Louis Cardinals hat. Those trips to Minneapolis and the memories that were made created a passion for baseball in my life. Don always had a smile on his face and was always good for a laugh. The only time I recall Don ever being stressed was when he hauled in what was probably a 12 pound Northern Pike on our fishing trip. Don panicked when he saw the size of it. Things got even worse for Don as he had to hold it for a photo. He didn't want anything to do with that big fish. I always felt comfortable being around Don. Despite being from a different generation, I think of him as a great friend and a kindred spirit. I will truly miss you Don as will my entire family. My dad sends his sincere condolences and prayers as do the rest of my family. You touched the lives of so many and left a great legacy for us all! We will all miss you!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marg, Mark, Anita and their families. I miss Dunis! He defined friendship for me. He modeled keeping relationships current. He was my baseball and hockey encyclopedia. The internet can’t replace him.
Although we only worked together for 4 years in the 70’s in Estevan, Don and Marg became life long friends of ours. Dunis was a prolific reader. I loved asking him what he was reading and then I’d just sit back and listen. I was always mesmerized by his descriptions. He was a role model in so many ways. He always did his best at everything he did. He earned the respect of his colleagues for his work ethic and his character. While he was serious about his work, his sense of humor always surfaced at the right time. I am so grateful for his support and encouragement of me, especially the times that I had no idea what I was doing! And I was his leader. ;-)
Don and Marg’s faith had a huge influence on my spiritual journey. That is life changing. Don was the same man regardless of who he was with - CEO’s or a new hire. He was a humble, gentle man, who treated everyone with respect. That’s called “Love”.
The only time he became irritated was when his Red Birds weren’t playing sound, fundamental baseball. That drove him crazy.
Dunis had a nickname for everyone. I’m The Earl of Weaver. What’s your name?
I miss you Dunis. Thanks for the memories. I love you man. You’ll have the best seat in the house when pitchers and catchers report in February.
We love you Marg,
Bob and Norma Koenig and family
