My heartfelt condolences to the family, especially RikiJean. Char was a major player in my healing after she courageously shared her stories with me many years ago. She always was a shining star and could see a new perspective in every situation. I am grateful to have spent a lovey weekend with her in Sept. May her journey be peaceful and joyous now. Know her memory will live on in many. Hugs....

Mom in her grandson Jacksons Jersey. She said she’d have the best seats in the house from now on whenever she watched the boys play sports.

My mom had such a wonderful sense of humour, she worked so hard for our family, and she never once complained. She was a woman of action, and if she didn’t like the situation she was in, or the cards that she were dealt, she would do something about it. Although she is an extremely spiritual person, she grew frustrated with organized religion, and much of the hypocrisy is of the church. I could not be more proud of her strength, courage, and determination not only throughout her life, but also at the conclusion of a life well lived. I could not be more proud of the countless number of people whose lives she has touched, and her impact on this world in the time that she was here will echo long after she is gone.
Love you mom.
Your favourite son,
Blake

Since Char is my older sister my memories go way back but one I most remember is when I had to be in hospital in Saskatoon over Christmas. Since we lived in LaRonge, Char was looking after my four children who were about 9-13 years old. She brought them up to visit me along with my nieces and they stood around my bed singling Christmas carols with her. That brought tears to my eyes! And when New Years Eve approached Char found plastic champagne glasses and brought me Canada Dry ginger ale, known as “the champagne of ginger ales.” That is one Christmas I will never forget because of my sister’s care and kindness to my children and me.
